Wanted to update the team on my progress...

During the Easter break I was able to exercise EVERY DAY and eat healthy meals.  Feeling pretty good about my choices but can't seem to drink enough water.  Why is that such a challenge?  Thanks for all of the suggestions and support.  Hoping for good numbers tomorrow!

March 8

Sitting at my desk for just a few minutes eating oatmeal with raisins while blogging.  A bottle of water is on my desk instead of coffee.  Will be teaching a vocabulary lesson in Coach Foster's Algebra classes today, so I'll be moving around more today.  I'm finding it much easier to eat well than it is to incorporate exercise.  Maybe, as the weather improves, I'll find it more appealing to be outside and walk.

BTW...think I've lost a few LB's due to my low caloric intake.

March 6th

Yesterday was a very long work day: at CHS until 4, tutored until 5, Open House from 6-8.  Meals were simple and easy.  Made the Tuscan Tuna for dinner last night and was pretty good.  Did not have the beans, so left those out.  No exercise yesterday, but am hoping to walk when I get home this afternoon at 5.

LOVE THE MOTIVATIONAL MESSAGES!!!

I can't wait to try all of the recipes on the nutrition page.  Love the Tuscan Tuna recipe and will make that tomorrow.

Had a great time this weekend visiting my daughter in Fayetteville.  Was able to make good choices at meal times.  Did not get a walk on Saturday due to our schedule, but throughout the day I probably walked the equalivant of my typical walk while my daugther and I shopped.  Am motivated to be more disciplined this week.  Looking forward to reporting success on Friday.

March 1

There's been a change in my behavior and attitude...

Yesterday afternoon started having some cravings, not too bad, for something salty or sweet.  Did not cave!Sleepless night last night due to worries and stresses.  So, needless to say, I did not get up early today and am feeling totally guilty!  Instead, I drank coffee and watched a little of the morning news programs, talked to my mother on the phone, and did some house work.  Today at work I've been sitting most of the day because I'm working on a project that requires me to be at the computer until it is finished.  Arrgghhhhh....

Breakfast: cereal, milk, coffee
Lunch: hamburger w/ tomato and pickles, Diet Coke
Snack: herbal tea
Dinner: ???

Now that I see what I have done to sabotage my earlier success, I'm feeling even more guilty.  Here are my problems today:  I will work until about 7:30 PM.  I HATE GROCERY SHOPPING and I'm out of healthy foods.  Plus, I'm headed out of town tomorrow.  Arrrgghhhh....HELP!!!

February 29

What a great start to this extra day we have this year!  Woke up early, had my coffee, walked for 1 hour, did my back exercises, and packed my healthy lunch BEFORE I came to work today.  So, I think I'm on track for my fitness goals this week.  As for my nutrition goals, I think I'm doing exceptionally well.  Have had very few processed foods, am eating more fruits and vegetables, and am drinking more water.  Because I feel so accountable to this project and this class, I am doing better than I anticipated; therfore, I'm feeling GREAT!

So, on my walk this morning I was wondering... are any of you going to join me on this fitness journey?  I know the project is organized for you to serve as my counselors, but I think you all need to participate with me.  Here's a challenge for you guys: instead of watching me on this journey, hop on the road with me!  Any takers out there?  We'll talk Friday.

Breakfast: whole wheat cereal, milk, cranberry juice, water, coffee
Lunch: veggie sandwich, celery with hummus, water
Sanck: orange
Dinner: salmon, broccoli, rice, tea

February 28

Feeling so up beat and positive about OUR journey.  Hopefully, this is as rewarding for you guys as it is for me.

So far today I've eatten another healty breakfast of hard boiled eggs and I added a can of V-8 Juice.  Lunch was another veggie sandwich and water.  I will have an apple and a glass of water for my snack.  Tonight's dinner will be left-over trout and spinach pasta.  I'd love to share my pasta recipe with you.  Let me know if you want me to bring  you a sample to class one day.  I will walk when I get home from tutoring at 5:30 and will start my exercises.

So far, so good!

Thanks to Hannah for helping me understand how the BLOG works.  This is great fun!

One more thing...I think my skirt fits just a tad better today!  Maybe I'm dreaming, but I think this is already working for me!!!

February 27

So great to meet all of you yesterday!  So impressed with your empathy regarading my journey.  Truthfully, I know that I don't have much weight to loose, but I have been extremely physically fit in the past and I love the feeling I have when I'm in top physical condition.  I'm hoping this process will help me get back into better condition than I am now.

Now for what I've done because of your inspiration...

Diet is much better.  Eating very health foods and attempting to eat on a more regular schedule.  I ate a good breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs, a banana, and of course my coffee!  Lunch was a veggie sandwich and water, snack was a greapfruit, and dinner was snapper, homemade spinach pasta with tomatoes and basil (YUMMY).  I think I did drink about 40 oz. of water and I walked for 1 hour.

Thanks for everything!
